Seoul, South Korea.
Dear my lovely mom.
Hai mom, how are you? I miss you so much. I feel like I haven’t seen my mother in a long time. The leaves here are drying up as the thirst for longing wants to be met.
Indeed, I just felt for myself that there is no cure for longing other than a meeting. You wished me success this morning, a quiet peaceful morning. That word, even if it was just a short message, made me even more eager to meet you. Mom, forgive me. Forgive your child who has not been able to make you smile.
When I was younger, I was a bit of a snob, so when I was older, I was a little more reserved. South Korea Medicine University is my dream college. I’m very happy here, and I have a lot of friends. I always tell stories about your kindness to my friend, and one of them wants to meet you; her name is Diona Stroupe. She is from London. Diona is my best friend here; everything I feel, I tell her. For example, I miss your hug and kiss that you gave. I love everything about you. I miss you, mom.
Mom, I miss the beautiful moments with you. Mom is always excited when you and I go shopping together.
There is nothing painful when I see friends pacing around campus with their parents, especially with a mother. May Allah always grant you health, strength, toughness, and protection, Ameen.
I hope you come to visit me. Later, I will take you to Korea to go shopping and eat Korean food, and I will introduce you to all of my friends.
For my wonderful mother, Rohimah, who never tires of praying for her daughter.
Your daughter,
Naya (Ade).
